In January 2018, Beck and her family faced a significant setback when Josh lost a major client for his business. This moment of turmoil led them to a workshop by the Resilience Project, which shifted their perspective on life. Tragedy struck in late 2018 when Beck's eldest son, Liam, tragically passed away in a boating accident. This heart-wrenching event forever changed their lives. However, Bec's incredible strength and determination propelled her to create something meaningful out of her pain.

Despite initial setbacks, Beck's persistence led her to seek support from various state governments and organizations.
